Meeting Notes

From July 25 to 28, project leaders attended the "Health Care 2023" seminar, presenting research on human factors engineering in medicine. The conference explored theoretical discussions and case studies, offering valuable insights.

On July 25, sessions focused on disease care analysis. A simulated cardiac ICU scenario demonstrated how video analysis, field visits, and expert discussions improve patient safety. The Medly system for heart failure management was also introduced, showcasing its effectiveness and Canadian medical certification.

July 26 highlighted the Markov decision-making process in disease screening and elderly care. Participants explored cost-effective strategies and simulation technology applications, particularly for chronic disease management and home-based assessments.

On July 27, discussions covered cognitive function prediction, diabetes care apps, and emergency patient prognosis. Some models had limitations, but their exploratory value and technological innovations provided useful insights for future research. The session also examined data accuracy challenges and the balance between predictive models and real-world applications.

On the final day, the discussions turned to critical issues like chemotherapy prescription errors and advancements in diabetic nephropathy treatments. A significant topic was the role of SGLT2 in diabetes management, with experts emphasizing the importance of incorporating scientific data into clinical decision-making for better patient outcomes.

Overall, the seminar deepened participants’ understanding of healthcare innovations. Through expert discussions and interdisciplinary collaboration, project leaders gained fresh perspectives on integrating emerging technologies and optimizing medical services in future research.
